Importance Of Spices In Food

Magical Spices

Today I am going to write about the magical items in our kitchen. Mainly those which are needed to boost our Immunity. We all know how important are spices in Food for taste but do you know that there are lot of benefits of spices in Food for human health.

Good food and good medications should be taken together to cure your pathological conditions.

Believe me good Indian food in good proportions is what prevents many diseases and cures many.  Our Indian foods include lots of spices which are beneficial for our health. I am also MBBS student but I believe our kitchen is the first hospital and our mom is the first doctor.

Immunity plays key role in leading a healthy lifestyle. Entire world is now going through the worst phase and boosting our own immune system is really important to surf this pandemic safely.

As of now there’s no medicine and the only medicine for both prevention and cure of corona virus is IMMUNITY BOOSTING ( good food, care , supplementation).

Not only corona virus disease but we are prone to many diseases like TB ( Tuberculosis) , pneumonia , Bronchitis , recurrent ear infections , digestive disorders which can be prevented by boosting immunity.

Here I’m gonna write about the best spices to avoid common disorders ( Diabetes , cholesterol , heart diseases , memory diseases etc)

( A little about antioxidant before going into the actual topic – In our body highly reactive free radicals are produced as a result of various metabolic processes which react with our cells and  causes heart diseases , cancers , kidney diseases, memory issues , cataract etc. So if we take antioxidants then we can prevent many such conditions and should avoid processed food , alcohol which are free radical rich)

Ginger

Indian house without ginger doesn’t exist. Ginger contains Gingerol which is responsible for it’s medicinal values. It’s a good immunity booster and other benefits are natural blood thinning agent so it prevents heart diseases , anti inflammatory , anti bacterial , muscle pains , morning sickness , lowers sugar levels.

Garlic

We use it on daily basis but many don’t know how great the garlic is. It consists of Allicin which helps in boosting immunity. Other benefits are lowers cholesterol levels , lowers blood sugars antioxidant.

Cumin seeds

Helps in weight loss , maintaining blood sugar levels , in digestive problems , antibacterial , anti parasite.

Turmeric

The active substance is curcumin. It helps fighting viruses. Other are anti inflammatory , prevent cancer, heart disease, Alzheimers, arthritis

Pepper

The active substance is piperine. It is a good antioxidant , helps in weight loss , controlling blood sugar , cholesterol levels , solves digestive problems.

Cardamom

No sweet is complete without it. It has potassium , calcium within it. It’s anti inflammatory , helps for bad breath , in preventing cavities ,

Cloves

The active substance is eugenol which is a  natural antioxidant. Other benefits are it aids digestion , antibacterial , great for oral health. It’s high manganese value is good for your brain , bones.

Cinnamon

It is anti-inflammatory , anti microbial , anti parasite , keeps your blood sugar levels in check , antioxidant rich.

Mustard seeds

Rich in magnesium . It helps in relieving symptoms of arthritis , helps in asthma , antimicrobial , good for diabetics.

Coriander seeds

Helps in lowering cholesterol levels , weight loss , digestive problems , reduces heart diseases.

 

NOTE – To some extent they postpone or prevent the onset of the diseases but if you have a disease then take these along with your medications prescribed by your physician. Don’t eat anything in excess.
